Today we’re talking about the three meanings of USED TO.
USED TO
1. followed by verb is a regular verb and describes something that happened in the past but does not happen anymore.
用來表示過去經常做的行為，但現在不再發生了。
使用方法： used to + V (動詞原型)
其中的 to 是不定詞，而不是介係詞，所以後面只能接動詞原型。
Examples:
Mike used to travel a lot.
He used to go to school in New York.
I used to swim on the swim tram.
2.Can describe an instrument that is utilized for a cretain purpose. In this case, USED TO is also passive.
描述物品被用來做某件事情。
使用方法：物 + be used to + V (動詞原型)
這裡的 used 是 use 的被動語態，而 to 是不定詞，後面要加動詞原型。
Examples:
Flour, sugar and eggs are used to make cake.
Medicine is used to treat illness.
A basket is used to carry groceries.
3. And the last way to use USED TO is by describing something you are accustomed to,  or something that is normal for you.
指人習慣於某樣東西或某件事。
使用方法：人 + be used to + Ving (動名詞) / N (名詞)
這裡的 to 是介係詞，所以後面要加動名詞或名詞。
Examples:
I am used to living here.
I am used to studying all night.
She is used to going to the gym in the morning.
